Sustainability Guide
UN SDGs
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly approved the 2030 Agenda as an action plan for sustainable development in the social, environmental and economic environments. This plan identifies 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and 169 Targets to be achieved by 2030. And for the first time, companies are assigned for an important role as actors and, at the same time, as disseminators of the 2030 Agenda.
EICF is committed to the advance of the SDGs not only through their EICF own activities but fostering the adoption of Sustainable Business Strategies within their members.
Sustainability strategies, demanded leadership within the companies but at the same time skills and competencies within the personnel working on the foundries and related industries. Without the commitment and understanding from individuals these strategies might find profound difficulties into their implementation
This is why within the Foundry sector a EU funded project CHROMAFOR was launched and accomplished in order to build up and e-learning platform which could be accessible to the Companies Management and employees to understand, adopt and implement Sustainability strategies adapted and oriented to the Foundry sector.
