Bob Smart at the heart of the EICF

The EICF is deeply sorry to inform that Mr. Bob Smart, first Company Secretary of the EICF passed away last 29th of October 2019.

Bob Smart was the first Company Secretary of the EICF and also being in charge for many years of the BICTA (British Investment Casting Trade Association).

Without the vision of Bob Smart, the EICF will not be today where it is and there will not be either the long trail of European and International Conferences helping to build this community of professionals committed with the IC technology

The funeral is on 22 November (Friday) at Rainsbrook Crematorium, Ashlawn Road, Rugby. CV22 5QQ (11:30 AM). After the service – The Dun Cow, The Green, Dunchurch, Rugby. CV22 6NJ

Dr. Bob Smart was the author together with Dr. Peter Beeley of a very relevant book for the European Investment Casting Industry, titled “Investment Casting”

Last time that Bob Smart participated actively in a EICF conference was in 2006 at the Jubilee International Conference in Bilbao , he presented an overview of the first 50 years of the EICF. In addition he and his wife Maureen were present in Lugano at the EICF conference in 2014 enjoying the development of the EICF and meeting old colleagues and friends.

Bob Smart shall always be present at the heart of the EICF , their members and the European Investment Casting Industry.
